Tablao Flamenco Cordobes; Artisans

Restaurante Flamenco Barcelona Arte Nazari Detalle Boveda

The flamenco Tablaos are the historic stages of this ethnic and popular art which has influenced some kinds of art expression and Spanish culture in XIX and XX centuries.

After years of glory these stages, which have become the meeting point of the expert lovers (Los Cabales), were full of tourists that came in a massive way and favor, in some cases, its folkloric deformation.

The best performers of each time, who later have become great stars, have acted in the stage of Tablao Cordobes.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary, the Adame family is doing some structure and redecoration changes which will define their style with the incorporation of important works of the great school of plasterers in Granada along with other artisans that have turned the Tablao in an interesting example of Andalusian art.

To the world of flamenco, the tablaos meant a huge change in the way this art was transmitted. Previously, the flamenco shows were produced in familiar environments, meetings with a very specific public or improvising in inns or bars. In general, the wealthy families were the ones that hire flamenco artists to make their parties more pleasant. Since the opening of tablaos, the flamenco was open to the public in general and became a part of the society and got the flamenco closer to all its fans. Another important point was the professionalization of the sing because it allowed some singers to work exclusively as a flamenco singer, competing publically with other singers.
