Considered one of the most powerful and authentic dancers of her generation, Mercedes de Córdoba has a long and consolidated career, always standing out for her talent, her versatility and her ability to transmit emotions.

Having performed alongside the leading figures of flamenco singing and dancing and toured the main national and international flamenco events as an outstanding soloist, this precocious dancer, who as a child was already touring the main stages around the world, has now become one of the essential names in flamenco and dance today.

After receiving in 2013 the National Flamenco Award in her hometown, she began a promising career with her own company with shows such as `Sin Más’, with which she toured the main stages of numerous European cities, `Ser. Ni conmigo ni sin mí’, with which she has achieved great success with critics and audiences at events such as the XXV Festival de Jerez, the XXI, Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla or the VI Festival Flamenco Madrid or the most recent creation: `Yes, I want’, with which she has received unanimous support in the edition of the Festival de Jerez 2022 obtaining three awards (Guitarra con Alma Award and Best Musical Composition to the guitarist Juan Campallo, Revelation Artist Award to the dancer Águeda Saavedra and Best Accompanying Singer Award to Pepe de Pura). Or in the last edition of La Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla 2022, where she obtained one of the best reviews from the specialized press.

As proof of her restlessness and creative maturity, the Cordovan also stands out in her role as choreographer and artistic director of shows such as Cámara abierta, by Paula Comitre, which she directed with David Coria and won the Best Show Award at the last Festival de Jerez; ‘Con-migo’, presented at the same event by Fernando Jiménez, winner of the Desplante Award at the Festival de La Unión; `Ya no seremos’, by Ángel Rojas; `Sangre’ by Rafael and Juan Campallo, `Nacer para morir’, by Adela Campallo; `De Sevilla a Cádiz’, by Arte en movimiento and `Sonido de mis días de Gema Moneo’. In the 27th Festival de Jerez 2023 ‘Venero’ the most recent creation for Águeda Saavedra. Or with Eva Yerbabuena, for whom she has choreographed a piece of her work ‘Al igual que tú’, premiered at the XXV Festival de Jerez, being the first time that the Granada-born choreographer puts herself in the hands of a choreographer; in this case, in addition, of the one who was her student and was part of her corps de ballet in its beginnings.
